Two of Ireland's best-known novelists talk about writing, success, and how Irish literature has changed.

An audience in a dimly lit hall, with a smiling woman in the front row holding a tablet

Roddy Doyle and Anne Enright are two of Ireland's best-known novelists and both have won the Booker Prize. At Dublin Book Festival they share the stage to talk about writing, success, and the changing state of Irish literature.

The conversation is chaired by Martin Doyle, Books Editor of The Irish Times. It is part of the festival's 20th year. It is also one of the few headline events with tickets still on sale.

Why we picked it

Doyle and Enright are two of the most widely read Irish writers of their generation. It is rare to hear them in conversation together. If you only go to one event this year, make it this one.
